I love my G1

There must be something lighting up the keypad, it appears as white letters with pale blue symbols when typing, much as it does when not backlit.

How does the T-Mobile G1 differ from the HTC Dream available from Rogers in Canada?

The buttons look slightly different and I know the UMTS freqeuencies differ. Is that due to a different radio chip or hardware configuration? Are the button differences purely in the plastic outer casing or are there deeper mechanical differences?

Any chance of a teardown on a Rogers phone?

@ paul laurens: Yeah, the battery is actually worse than I though. It’ll die super fast when on 3G – which is the reason why it didn’t die that fast for me. I was using a pre-paid to test =).

@ beefsalad: There are no LED’s that light up the keypad.

@ BigBill: Thanks! We will have higher-res photos for future teardowns. It’s a bit difficult and tedious to do our previous ones. Give me an e-mail at phonewreck@gmail.com if you require the high-res photos though! I’d be glad to help.

Great Teardown!

A small suggestion: 1.) please use brighter lighting on your photos and 2.) it would be great if clicking on a pic would show a larger hi-res photo.
